I never ONCE had them so much as ask to help clean the crap out of the ship.
Not once !
After that one mission I spent 3 days with the water truck, and all the fkn panels off, cleaning the crap off and out.
I do not know how everyone else did it but that is how I did it, as i did not want that thing to smell like death .
Brother I am not for any further division of the Vietnam vets. Society and the media have done a fine job of that over the last forty some years I have been back in the world let alone the fifty years since the official beginning. I guess some things change and other things remain the same. What consoles me about that whole societal thing about rank I could do the pilots job. The one question that remains in my mind is could they have done our job?
Yeah if that is going to be the approach taken for the reunion I think it is the wrong approach if not just a plain bad one.
Rank don't mean squat since we have all long since been discharged. While I am at it too Brother George medals don't make a person a hero. A lot of heroic things were done everyday. A few got medals, the majority went unnoticed. After all this time has gone by as we used to say my friend it don't mean nothing. The Bear aint sweatin' o'er no little thing.
I haven't been to the official site yet, haven't seen anything posted here, haven't been to the Yahoo site either so don't really know what the deal is on the reunion.
Rumor is, there is a Special place for the Officers and ETC . (VIP crap)

Well brother George I had considered going but don't know how that is going to work out for me. Likely wont know for sure til after the first of May. Just being there was for me plenty to do before. Some of the others like Castagneto would know more about what else there would be to do in the area. As for whether or not you will recognize anyone I am guessing....hummm...likely not..LOL. The best thing about that is no one will likely recognize you either but it is a hoot figuring all that out once we get there. You might be surprised George. I am generally easy to entertain so I thought it was awesome when I went before.
